A Golf Frontier Like No Other

Over 1.5 million visitors are attracted annually to the Australia's vast and diverse ‘Top End’, lured by destinations that include the world famous Kakadu National Park, the chance to explore and swim in mesmerising waterfalls and be awed by ancient Aboriginal rock art, to the rich outback of the Red Centre with its stunning desert canyons, iconic landforms and vast skies.

Cazalys Palmerston General Manager Noel Fahey, a key driving force behind the tournament, spoke passionately at the dinner of his club’s desire to not only see the championship return in 2017 but of plans to propel the event on a trajectory of exponential growth over the next few years.

Darwin product, now Singapore resident, Unho Park would have revelled in those sentiments as he enjoyed a rare opportunity to play an event back in his native Australia at the NT PGA.

The Asian Tour veteran took advantage of the opportunity to come home to play in front of family and friends and despite missing the cut, his parting comments provided a window into some of the absorbing activities at your disposal when planning a pilgrimage to the extraordinary Northern Territory.

"I plan to stick around after the tournament and kick back. Do some fishing, go crabbing, watch the drag racing and see some Crocs!" Park said,

"There are a number of things you can do in Darwin that you just can't do in Asia."
