Lou Tan cards 71 in final round at The Junior Open

Flying the flag for Hong Kong, Lou Tan carded a two-under 71 in the final round of The Junior Open and finished in a tie of 19th place.

SCOTLAND, 14 July 2016, (HK Golfer News Wire) - Inaugurated in 1994 the Junior Open came under The R&A’s administrative control in 2000. Juniors under the age of 16 from 80 nations compete in the 54-hole event.

Playing the par-73 Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club, Lou Tan started off with an 83 but came back with a 77 on the second day to make the cut. He caught 5 birdies in the final round to sign off with a two-under 71. Tan caught a birdie on the par-5 16th hole on all three occasions. The event was won by Pedro Lencart Silva who posted an aggregate score of five-under-par 214.

Earlier in May Lou Tan received an invitation to compete in the Jamega Professional Tour - his first professional tournament.
