Final Shot with Steven Lam

The Hong Kong international talks to Alex Jenkins about how he was introduced to the game, his favourite courses and who would be in his dream fourball

What’s been your best ever round?

The 64 at WuYi was the lowest but the 65 I had over the North Course at Kau Sai Chau during the Faldo Series event a few years ago would be the best. The conditions weren’t easy and I managed eight birdies and one bogey.

Who would be in your dream fourball?

Jordan Spieth - he hasn’t beaten me yet! Tiger Woods - he was and continues to be my idol. And Rory McIlroy - because he’s playing the best right now and is a past Hong Kong Open winner.

What has been your most memorable moment on a golf course?

The putt I made on the 18th green of the New Course to beat Max Wong and win the Hong Kong Close Amateur in 2012. It was tricky: nearly 20 feet, downhill and left to right. I wasn’t entirely sure of the state of the tournament but I just knew I had to make that putt to have a chance.
