Omega Globemaster

Last year, Omega announced that it had a new watch certification system developed with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, or METAS, which requires the watch to perform within a tolerance of 0 to +5 seconds per day even after exposure to a 15,000 gauss magnetic field. The first of its in-house movements to carry this certification, apart from COSC, is the Calibre 8900, which Omega has christened the first “Master Chronometer”. The movement is used in the new Globemaster collection, inspired by historic Constellation models from the 1950s and '60s. The watch features a “pie pan” dial, which comes in silvered opaline or sun-brushed blue, showcasing Super Luminova hands and hour markers, with a date window at 6 o’clock. A fluted bezel accents the 39mm case, which comes in stainless steel, yellow gold, two-tone steel or Omega’s own Sedna gold.
