Record Turnout for USGA Course Rating Seminar

The United States Golf Association (USGA) held its biennial Asian Course Rating Seminar in Hong Kong this year, attracting a record turnout from federations across the region.

HONG KONG, 30 May 2016, (HK Golfer News Wire) - More than 50 delegates from 11 different countries attended the three-day seminar at The Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club, which was supported by the Hong Kong Golf Association (HKGA), The R&A and the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).

Scott Hovde, Assistant Director of Handicap and Course Rating Administration for the USGA commented:  “This is the fourth time we have held the Asian Course Rating Seminar in Hong Kong and it was a pleasure to welcome more delegates than ever this year.  We appreciate the hospitality of the HKGA and The Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club plus the support of The R&A and the APGC.”

Also attended by Steven Edmonson, the USGA’s Managing Director of Handicapping and Course Rating and Kevin Weir, Assistant Director of Handicapping for The R&A, the seminar featured updates on the World Handicap System and the USGA Course Rating System plus on and off-course training sessions for existing and potential course raters.
