Yeung, 24, sank a 10-foot birdie putt at the first extra hole to deny Callum Tarren and American Joseph Gunerman, the joint 54-hole leader with Canada’s Richard Jung.

The ex-HK national player was thrilled to win with his girlfriend and friends in the stands, having secured his place in the playoff with a third successive 65. After failing to record a birdie in his first 12 holes on Thursday, he birdied 27 of his last 60 holes in regulation – plus the first extra hole.

Yeung has helped the HK team to win a silver medal in the 2013 National Games of China.

The Florida-based Yeung, who was born and raised in Beijing before moving to the U.S.A. in 2006, is now another contender for a Web.com Tour card after earning full status on the PGA TOUR Series-China through 2019 with his victory.
