The Hong Kong Golf Club’s historic Old Course will be the venue for the third Hong Kong Ladies Open.

Tiffany Chan will return to defend the title

HONG KONG, 20 Mar 2017, (HK Golfer News Wire) - One of the eldest and most storied layouts in Asia, the Old Course will welcome an international cast for the 54-hole event from June 9-11.

Hong Kong amateur Tiffany Chan will return to defend the title she won last year, described by many as the proudest moment in Hong Kong golfing history.

That victory saw her soar into the top-60 in the world ranking and earn a spot in the starting line-up at the Rio Olympics where she performed with dignity.

An Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Course Facility Member, the Hong Kong Golf Club dates back to 1889 and boasts three 18-hole layouts at its Fanling location in the New Territories as well as a nine-hole complex at Deepwater Bay.

With a prize purse of US$150,000 the Hong Kong Ladies Open will be tri-sanctioned by the Ladies Asian Golf Tour, the Taiwan LPGA and the China LPGA.

The 120-strong field will be made up of 38 players from each of the Taiwan LPGA and China LPGA, 28 players from Ladies Asian Golf Tour and 16 from Hong Kong.

The winner of the inaugural event in 2015 was Korean Lee Jeong-hwa.
