Final Shot with Nathan Goulding

The Hong Kong-based professional, a recent winner on the HKPGA Order of Merit, talks about how he was introduced to the game, his favourite courses and who would be in his dream fourball

Kingston Heath in Melbourne

What’s your favourite course in Hong Kong?

It would have to be Clearwater Bay. The views and conditioning there are always great and it has a lot of challenging holes.

And in the world?

Augusta National is by far and away the best golf course I have seen - I’ve been there three times but I haven’t had the satisfaction of playing it. The two courses that I have played and which really stand out are Kingston Heath in Melbourne and Sea Island in Georgia. Kingston Heath is always in super condition and has a great finish of holes. Alister MacKenzie designed many great courses and that and Royal Melbourne are spectacular.

Who would be in your dream fourball?

I’d have to include my two idols growing up - Michael Jordan and Greg Norman, with the fourth being my Dad. If I also get to choose the course then we’d play Augusta.

What has been your most memorable moment on a golf course?

That would have to be my only hole-in-one to date - a 5-iron from 195 yards at the University course in Louisiana.
