VPAR Asia launch
Thursday, March 17 saw the official launch of VPAR – the innovative live scoring system – in Asia.
Held at the Hong Kong Golf Club, the launch included a round over the New Course to test the state-of-the-art equipment. Impact Golf Management, which is headed by former Hong Kong amateur international Tim Orgill and Dominique Boulet, one of the best local professionals in history, are the sole distributors of the device in Asia and see the product as being particularly popular at corporate golf events and top amateur tournaments. The VPAR concept is simple: each player scores their round on a handheld device and VPAR immediate calculates the net score or points and updates live leaderboards – which can be viewed on the device, on the web and on dedicated screens in the clubhouse. "It was a brilliant day on the course and VPAR is fantastic," said Angus Sexton, a senior vice president at ipac, who was one of sixteen lucky golfers invited to join in the day.
