Worried that the literally limitless colour and trim options might bewilder some buyers, Reichman and his team have prepared six mock- ups as starting points, ranging from a very traditional British racing green exterior with wood trim that references historic Astons, to a very edgy, bling black-and-gold treatment unlike anything else you’ll see on the road. And if you still can’t decide, Reichman will take a break from designing the next generation of Astons to give you a personal consultation.

Downsides? The boot is tiny, but if you can afford the One-77 you can probably afford to send your ‘man’ ahead with your luggage in something more practical. You might also wonder why you didn’t go for the equally- impractical Bugatti Veyron at a very similar price, with its unbeatable 19th hole bragging rights as the world’s fastest, most powerful production car. But in truth, many of those 77 ‘patrons’ will have one of each, and will appreciate the One-77 for what it is: probably the greatest Aston Martin that will ever be made.
